The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is pleased to welcome Julius Genachowski as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman and Larry Strickling as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Telecommunications and Information, and head of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). TIA applauds the U.S. Senate for confirming Genachowski and Strickling, along with confirming Commissioner Robert McDowell to a second term on the FCC.
TIA has already weighed in on pressing issues at the forefront of each agency’s agenda — the FCC is developing a National Broadband Plan and NTIA is overseeing the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) grants under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
