Renault takes a big step forward to include ONDAS Media S.A., the satellite radio company for Europe, as part of their commercial agreement to install satellite radio receivers in Renault vehicles and its affiliates across Europe. This agreement enables Renault customers the benefits of the uninterrupted signal quality that satellite radio brings, in addition to extensive, commercial-free content and programming to be broadcast by ONDAS Media.
“Our detailed market research confirmed that Satellite Radio has a strong appeal for all Europeans,” explains Dave Krueger, CEO of ONDAS. “Following our deals with BMW and Nissan last year, this agreement with Renault reinforces that every type of car buyer has a high interest factor in our satellite radio service: 80 percent want it in their next car, and 40 percent will subscribe at a reasonable price.”

The deal also provides Renault with the opportunity to equip vehicles they manufacture and sell in Eastern Europe and Russia. “These have been and continue to be major growth markets for the car companies and are high-interest markets for our service. When it comes to OEM customer deals we have already far exceeded expectations relating to purchase intent and market penetration and this means that satellite radio is soon to be a very real and exciting proposition for European consumers,” confirms Dave Krueger.
Through a fully integrated, digital satellite transmission network, ONDAS will broadcast its multi-lingual radio, music, video and data services directly to European consumers in their automobiles, trucks, homes, offices and to their mobile and portable devices. It will provide digital entertainment to 250 million vehicles and up to 500 million European inhabitants on the move 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through more than 150 channels of proprietary and re-distributed music, sports, news, weather, traffic and special interest programming in all the key European languages.
