XStreamHD showcased their technology with demos of the XStreamHD whole-home solution at the EchoStar booth during the recent NAB.
XStreamHD’s innovative whole-home HD entertainment system delivers full 1080p HD video and up to 7.1 channels of lossless DTS-HD Master Audio™ directly to the home via satellite. This allows users to enjoy the very latest movies, music, electronic games, and other content as soon as it is released, in exactly the format the entertainment was meant to be enjoyed. XStreamHD’s unique and exclusive Pre-Fetched Entertainment (PFE) model means consumers will no longer have to endure tedious Internet downloads, wait in midnight lines, or manage mail delivery of Blu-ray discs. PFE automatically delivers just-released HD entertainment directly to the XStreamHD Media Server in the home, enabling consumers to enjoy immediate multi-room access to the highest quality content the moment it is released by the studio.
When rolled out to consumers, XStreamHD will redefine the home entertainment landscape. The rapid emergence of high-quality digital media content and the demand for this content in the home calls for more efficient ways to provide consumers with the latest in entertainment technology. XStreamHD does exactly that, by allowing consumers to receive unparalleled access to Blu-ray quality content quickly, efficiently, and at their convenience. This is accomplished through XStreamHD’s unique transport system, currently testing on SES Americom’s AMC-16 satellite at 85 degrees West, enabling XStreamHD to deliver Full HD movies, music, and games directly to subscriber homes throughout North America. The XStreamHD whole-home solution includes one server that can simultaneously deliver multiple streams of full HD video and 7.1 channels of lossless DTS-HD Master Audio throughout the home to any television equipped with either the XStreamHD Media Receiver or any DLNA-Certified device, such as HDTVs, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and PCs. XStreamHD also organizes all digital content in each user’s Virtual Personal Library, and includes intuitive program guides, trailers and reviews that not only help users choose their programs but also pre-selects titles users are most likely to enjoy by adapting to their entertainment personality.
