Held at the JW Marriott Star Pass Resort, this course is designed for aerospace engineering, management, and business development professionals who want to learn the fundamentals of strategic planning. This course provides participants with an improved understanding of what strategic planning is, how it can be used to improve organizational goal-setting, how to define strategies to achieve those goals, and how to make sound resource allocation decisions to implement the strategies. An important secondary objective of the seminar is to familiarize participants with the concepts and processes employed by the more successful aerospace companies for effectively meshing the overall strategic planning function with on-going business development initiatives and day-to-day contract execution.
The course instructor, Terry Schilling, brings more than 40 years of broad and diverse management experience in the aerospace industry, culminating in more than 40 years as Vice President of Business Development at Orbital Sciences Corporation. He is well-positioned to lend his expertise and practical knowledge in the field of strategic planning. He has held senior leadership and business development positions with three of the world’s largest major aerospace companies. He has an extensive program development background in classified (SCI) space-based remote sensing and ground-based systems applications. With in-depth experience in advanced programs and program pursuit management for large scale NASA/Civil, Defense, National, and Commercial space systems, and subsystems, Mr. Schilling will provide proven techniques in Strategic planning, program capture management, proposal leadership and development, competitive analyses, price to win assessments.
