The Company, the result of the merger between ARG Electro Design and Brick House Video, will also introduce the latest version of its Inverse Multiplexer that makes the most of bandwidth usage, and its REMON (REmote MONitoring system) that allows non-SNMP equipment to be managed in an SNMP network.
ARG Brickhouse built upon the success of Callisto-HD’s SD predecessor and designed a switcher that presents an easy transition to HD mixing. Callisto-HD will debut at NAB as a true multi-format asynchronous switcher that offers up-conversion with Super Resolution Bandlet Technology for the smoothest upgrade path to HD. Legacy formats have not been forgotten; Callisto-HD also offers a full range of analogue inputs thus allowing the user to handle analogue, SDI SD and SDI HD signals seamlessly in a single unit. Two layers of DSK are provided, and the entire unit is contained in a 1RU chassis. Users of the existing Callisto-RC will be pleased to find that their existing control panels will work with Callisto-HD.
The 3-input Callisto Micro from ARG Brickhouse has been designed to meet the need for a very compact SD switcher. Callisto Micro is ideal for the helicopter video arena and other broadcast facilities where space and weight are at a premium. At only 4-1/2 lbs. (2Kg) in weight and with a footprint of 7 inches (18cm) x 5.5 inches (14cm), it will fit in just about anywhere!
NAB 09 attendees will be among the first to witness the latest version of ARG Brickhouse’s Inverse Multiplexer, the I-MUX, with full IP connectivity and SNMP. The I-MUX grooms multiple E1 2Mbit/s or T1 1.55Mbit/s circuits to match the required bandwidth for DVB-ASI MPEG transmission with IP or for IP alone. This is in contrast to many other broadcast telecommunications products on the market that waste spare bandwidth.
The REMON (REmote MONitoring system) from ARG Brickhouse allows non-SNMP equipment to be managed in an SNMP network. It also offers the control and monitoring of equipment via any Web Browser, together with the valuable bonus of programming the SNMP MIB. The system is supplied in a 1RU chassis, which comes complete with dual power supplies and connection for up to 40 GPIs and contact closures. Front panel control provides alarm control and system health status.
ARG Brickhouse will also show its range of digital broadcast and telecommunications network products including the Syntax up/cross converter; the Proteus multi-format, multi-purpose converter; the Callisto range of switchers; the Neptune dual frame synchronizer; the Media Combiner 1900 multiplexer series; and the Flex 2400 switcher and distribution amplifier.
