Comm At Altitude For British Airways

British Airways (BA) plans to launch OnAir’s in-flight mobile communication service on its new twice-daily business flights from London City Airport to JFK in New York.

The in-flight service will enable passengers to send and receive texts and emails and to access the internet using their own mobile phones, Blackberry-type devices and laptops. The OnAir service is supported by Inmarsat‘s high-speed SwiftBroadband connectivity. Airlines using the service can choose to provide voice and data or data services only.
