Substantial Speakers Cemented In For 25th National Space Symposium

The 25th National Space Symposium will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at The Broadmoor Hotel from March 30th through April 2nd, and a wealth of subject-matter experts will be on hand to offer their presentations and information to attendees.

Agenda items include panels and presentations by industry, congressional, military, and government space leaders on topics including new space entrepreneurship and space tourism, cyberspace, national security, regulatory environment, climate change, Earth applications for space products, the space economy, the international space arena, and the challenges and opportunities in space. A number of prestigious awards recognizing space-related achievements of both individuals and organizations will be presented during the event. The General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award will be presented to The Honorable Peter B. Teets, former Under Secretary of the Air Force and Director of the National Reconnaissance Office and former president and COO of Lockheed Corporation. Winners of the Douglas S. Morrow Award for Public Outreach, The John L. “Jack” Swigert, Jr., Award for Space Exploration, The Alan Shepard Technology in Education Award, the Space Achievement Award and the inductees to the Space Technology Hall of Fame will be announced closer to the event.

In addition, the 29 teachers who have just been selected as Space Foundation Teacher Liaisons will attend an in-depth space science education program for teachers and some of their students will have an opportunity to attend a meeting with an astronaut. A Space Career Fair will connect college students, transitioning military and some local high school students with potential careers in the space industry. And, more than 140 top space companies will be represented in the 45,000 square feet of exhibits.
