Thuraya’s newly launched ThurayaIP solution has certainly been well received. Over the last few weeks there have been eight distribution agreements signed for Thuraya’s broadband terminals. ThurayaIP meets customers’ ever growing needs for advanced data communications with this portable satellite-based solution. In addition, it is among the smallest and fastest broadband terminal in its category. With an A-5 compact size, a solid video streaming capability and speed of 444 kbps, the product is commercially making headways in satellite broadband market. Those segments benefiting from this broadband solution include oil and gas, the media, NGOs, transport firms and institutions operations in remote areas.
The eight service providers signing up as Thuraya’s partners in marketing and distributing the new product are: Fort Info Technology, GPTC, IEC, Indigo Airtime Ltd, NSSL, Satcom Group, Xsat Fze and Xtra-Link. These distributors have established networks and extensive expertise in telecom retail. They will cover all of Thuraya’s markets spanning Europe and Africa to the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
