Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) has appointed Susan Miller, a 20-plus year veteran of the satellite services industry, to the position of senior vice president for satellite services. Ms. Miller will take charge of the overall management and direction of MSV’s satellite services business.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Miller held a number of industry leadership positions including president and chairman of the board for Intelsat General Corporation, a subsidiary of Intelsat Ltd. There she was responsible for the leadership and management of Intelsat’s business serving the U.S. government military and civilian agencies, NATO country military business, and commercial operations. Additionally, she served in a variety of executive and leadership positions with COMSAT Corporation and later Lockheed Martin World Systems. As vice president of engineering and operations for Lockheed Martin World Systems, she was responsible for all engineering and operations functions, research and development programs, technical support programs, market analysis and service development initiatives. Ms. Miller holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
John Mattingly, the previous head of MSV Satellite Services, will now focus his efforts on MSV’s satellite transition projects, strategic initiatives and international spectrum negotiations.
