The W5 satellite operated by Eutelsat Communications has experienced an anomaly to a portion of its power generator subsystem. The problem first became evident between the 16th and 17th of June. Right now, this anomaly is being investigated by Eutelsat and the manufacturer of the satellite, Thales Alenia Space. For technical reasons, and also as a matter of precaution, Eutelsat has reduced by a small number the operating transponders on the satellite, all in accordance with standard flight procedures.
