Orbit, a provider of solutions for mobile SatCom, tracking antennas, and audio management systems, has received an order for a tracking system from BHP Billiton. The tracking system will be used for BHP Billiton‘s offshore FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offtake) facilities. This is the second order that BHP Billiton has placed with Orbit. Orbit provides a variety of stabilized tracking antenna systems which are used for point-to-point (PtP) line-of-sight (LOS) communications with either vessel-to-shore or vessel-to-vessel applications. The PtP system is designed as an add-on solution to Orbit’s Vsat oil and gas systems and as an add-on system for the entire range of Orbit’s SatCom solutions.
