MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (TSX: MDA) has announced that their Montreal operation has been awarded a $21 million USD contract by The Boeing Company (Boeing) for an information solution for the International Space Station (ISS). MDA will provide two spare sets of S-band communication subsystems designed to provide critical voice and data links between astronauts on-board the ISS and Earth. This contract award by Boeing is part of an overall strategy to keep the ISS in operation through the year 2016 and beyond. This solution follows MDA’s other mission critical solutions currently supporting the ISS, which includes most recently the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (Dextre)—Richmond, British Columbia
