Telecom Industry Issues To Be Addressed At GTM
Intelsat, Ltd., has announced their annual Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM) held in Washington, D.C., 2-5 June, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, will expand beyond carrier-oriented transaction services to a world telecommunications summit to address many of the most pressing issues faced by today’s global corporate network operators, carriers and governments. For the past 34 years GTM, presented by Intelsat, has brought together the world’s communications companies. More than 800 corporations and organizations from every continent have met for knowledge sharing and a bilateral trading forum. This year, the global meeting will provide content addressing the business and social issues affecting the telecom industry and the world. GTM 2008 will focus on bringing government, technology and industry together to connect the unconnected. Dr. Hamadoun Touré, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and champion of the Connect the World initiative, will be the featured keynote speaker. The ITU is working with information and communication technology (ICT) partners to mobilize the human, financial and technical resources required to expand the development of ICT infrastructure, connectivity and access.
