Globecomm Trots Out Goodies At NAB

Globecomm Systems Inc. [NASDAQ: GCOM] will be offering three Screens and no waiting for their demos at this week’s NAB ’08 in Vegas. The company is going to feature a range of technologies that are designed to “future-proof” TV distribution systems, from legacy broadcast, cable and satellite to IPTV, Internet and mobile.Throughout the four days of the NAB Show, Globecomm will demo its implementation of Inlet Technologies‘ Spinnaker streaming solution by delivering the same video content via new media encoding to a TV, PC, and mobile devices. A second demo will showcase Globecomm’s ability to integrate IPTV video and “over the top” or Internet-direct video to a set-top box (STB) through advanced middleware and conditional access systems. Visitors to the Globecomm booth will also learn about the Company’s Media Processing Center, an architecture for converting video into a wide variety of formats for distribution to cable TV, DVB satellite or handheld, and Internet video at many different bit rates and formats for live or file-based applications.
