ANALYSIS—Signals Telecom Consulting, the leading Latin American & Caribbean telecommunications markets consulting firm, has just released its “DTH Markets & Strategies in Latin America” report. This document is part of a series that also includes analytical studies on CATV and IPTV. This particular report analyzes positioning strategies for, and challenges faced by, the main DTH platforms in Latin America. “In 2007, DTH subscribers made up 22% of all clients participating in the Latin American Pay TV market. Signals estimates that by 2013, this number will increase to 33%. “One of the main drivers for DTH growth will be multiple service package bundles offered by telecommunications operators, whether this be done directly via own platforms (Telefonica, and, very soon, Telmex) or by way of joint commercial efforts, such as those offered by the DirecTV group in conjunction with different operators.” comments Carlos Blanco, Markets Research Director for Signals Telecom Consulting—Buenos Aires, Argentina
