More than 75 companies attended a small-business supplier forum in Houston, Texas, hosted by The Boeing Company [NYSE:BA]. All of the firms were interested in working together to compete for NASA‘s Facilities Development and Operations Contract (FDOC), administered by the Johnson Space Center, to support development, engineering, ops and maintenance of the mission and training systems that support human spaceflight programs. The contract also includes the development and maintenance of the software apps used in these facilities. The forum lasted for a half-day. To reduce costs, FDOC consolidates a portion of NASA’s Space Program Operations and Mission Support Operations contracts, with a contractor to be selected this November to start work in January of next year—St. Louis, Missouri
