HeliosNet Squeezes in More Capacity
Just when you thought there wasn’t much more capacity HeliosNet has installed two iDirect Universal 5IF satellite hubs and multiple remote routers. This establishes a broad satellite network able to support a diverse range of applications and maximize bandwidth efficiency at a time when the supply of capacity in the Russian satellite market is nearly exhausted. Based on the iDirect Intelligent Platform, HeliosNet will build an enterprise-class network with full mesh capabilities that will deliver IP broadband for Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Voice over IP (VoIP), Internet access, business continuity, video conferencing and other apps. The network will connect to multiple satellites and feature iDirect’s patented D-TDMA system, which dynamically allocates bandwidth over multiple remotes. The iDirect platform also delivers Group QoS (Quality of Service) functionality, which allocates bandwidth to specific IP applications, enabling HeliosNet to support a diversity of service level agreements in real time— Herndon, Virginia + Russia
