VDS has now made availability their Genarts Sapphire Plug-ins version 2 for Quantel. The new release features more than 30 new effects as well as many new parameters and improvements to existing effects in the package. VDS’ Synapse allows the Quantel Q range operator direct, interactive use of hundreds of professional-grade After Effects plug-ins from within the Pablo, iQ, gQ, eQ, QPaintbox, and QEffects environments. Westinghouse Digital Electronics is set to launch new TV campaign to support the company’s complete line of high-end LCD HDTvs, LCD computer monitors and digital photo frames. The campaign will run through the end of this year and connects the Westinghouse brand name with the Western Digital family of consumer electronic products. The campaign is going to run on 19 TV stations, including 12 CBS, four CW and three indie stations during morning news programs, late night talk shows and sporting events, airing in 12 markets across the U.S.—Santa Fe Springs, California

Selected to supply DVB-H headends for Harris Corporation’s Atlas DVB-H Mobile TV Transmitters is UDcast. UDcast will provide its DVB-H IP Encapsulators, Network Managers and monitoring equipment. Harris transmitters will also be fully interoperable with UDcast’s iSpicer to enable regionalization of programming from a single source. This feature will allow operators to save bandwidth costs and provide customized local programming that will best serve their regional markets. The DVB-H standard was given birth by the European DVB-T standard for digital terrestrial TV transmission. The standard allows simultaneous transmission of multichannel television, radio, video, audio and IP data to a range of multimedia receivers including cellular phones, PDAs, PCs and other handheld devices.
