Hughes Network Systems, LLC’s subsidiary HNS, Ltd., has sold to Bentley Walker an additional HX System Network Operations Centre (NOC). The HX platform employs a highly efficient implementation of the DVB-S2 industry standard, including Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM). Plus, the platform is fully compliant with IPoS (IP over Satellite), which is the first global satellite industry standard approved by TIA in North America, and ETSI and ITU in Europe.
This second deployment will operate form Bentley Walker’s Turin teleport over the EUTELSAT SESAT2 satellite. Bentley Walker will develop new services using the HX functionality and features of the Hughes HN broadband satplatform. The HX design is optimized for smaller networks and builds on a field-proven foundation. Operators are able to allocate satellite bandwidth as a “virtual pool.” Should a customer, or a group of terminals, not be fully using their allocated bandwidth, the HX System reallocates this bandwidth to others, all the while assuring that bandwidth will be available when needed—Germantown, Maryland & Hampshire, United Kingdom
