India-based executives Commodore Gyanendra Sharma, managing director India, and Joe Parsley, vice-president India and South Asia, met senior customers and industry partners at a reception held today in New Delhi to mark Northrup Grumman‘s expanding presence in India and the opening of its office there. Both Commodore Sharma and Joe Parsley will work to establish a strong local presence and working relationships with the Government of India, Indian Navy and Air Force military staffs as well as industry partnerships to strengthen the company’s ability to pursue new business opportunities in India.
Northrop Grumman is not new to the India defense market. Its close relationship with India goes back more than 25 years. Commodore Sharma, who joined the company in September as managing director in India for Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems, has had a distinguished career, spanning 34 years, with the Indian Navy, Coast Guard and Ministry of Defence. He has held appointments in the Indian Naval Headquarters, including Director of Naval Air Staff, Director of Aircraft Acquisition, and Deputy Director General Defence Planning Staff. Parsley has been resident in India since June when he was appointed vice- president of India and South Asia for Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. Previously, he was director of Land Forces marketing and business development. Before joining Northrop Grumman, he served with the United States Air Force in various leadership positions including a seven-year assignment at NATO and USAF headquarters in Europe—New Delhi, India
