Andrews Space has acquired Automated Controlled Environments, Incorporated (ACEI). The latter firm is a privately held California corporation developing fault-tolerant aerospace avionics and advanced control systems. ACEI hardware is currently flying in space on Bigelow‘s Genesis II spacecraft. Located in Valencia, California, ACEI’s facilities and staff will be integrated into Andrews’ daily operations. "Andrews currently has a number of customers in southern California, such as the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Bringing ACEi into the Andrews family is a key step in growing our presence in the southern California area," said Marian Joh, CEO of Andrews Space. ACEI customers include aerospace companies such as Lockheed Martin, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Bigelow Aerospace, and Kistler Aerospace Corporation, as well as government customers that include NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR), among others. Andrews is headquartered in Seattle, WA, and has offices in four other states including Utah, Texas, Alabama, and California.
