BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA: August 21, 2007—Satnews Daily—A legacy system has been replaced by Glentel, Inc. The company has completed the acquisition, and installation, of a new satellite hub at their Edmonton, Alberta, facilities. Glentel is a wireless solutions provider who operates 197 corporate retail and business locations in Canada. This new hub offers oil and gas pipeline monitoring and other control services to both Canadian and US customers.
Since 1997, Glentel has offered VSAT with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solutions, of particular use to those in remote field operations such as pipelines running from northern Canada to the Midwest of the U.S. The new hub uses the Anik F2 satellite for the North American coverage and they use a new 6.3-meter antenna.
