Globalsat Group, a prominent provider of satellite and hybrid connectivity solutions, has announced its expansion into the North American rail market. The company will showcase its mission-critical communication architectures as a sponsor at Railway Interchange 2026, taking place from June 2 to June 4 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Bridging Satellite Capabilities with Railway Infrastructure
As railway operators increasingly transition toward digitalization, automated signaling, and predictive maintenance, maintaining continuous communication across vast and remote terrains has become a foundational necessity. Globalsat Group intends to address these vulnerabilities by integrating direct-to-device technologies, satellite internet of things (IoT), and multi-orbit architectures to deliver highly resilient connectivity where conventional terrestrial networks are limited or entirely unavailable.
A Decade of Hybrid Connectivity Deployments
The expansion strategy is built upon nearly a decade of large-scale railway modernization projects successfully executed across Latin America. Globalsat Group has specialized in connecting moving assets, remote corridors, and operational control centers utilizing custom hybrid satellite and LTE architectures.
Notable infrastructure projects demonstrating the company’s capabilities include:
- VLI Logistics: Globalsat Group is currently spearheading a ten-year modernization project for the Brazilian multimodal operator, deploying hybrid satellite networks across more than 1,800 kilometers of track to support advanced signaling and assisted operations.
- Rumo: For one of Brazil’s largest railway operators, the company implemented satellite-enabled telemetry designed to provide real-time locomotive visibility and secure communication between drivers and control centers in remote regions.
- Valec: The company enabled critical satellite communications for the North-South Railway project, drastically improving remote asset visibility and operational safety.
Advancing North American Modernization
Railway Interchange 2026 marks a significant operational milestone for the company’s regional growth. Sam Crowther, the Head of Sales for Globalsat US, and Marcelo Sturmann, the Vice President of Strategic Sales, will represent the company to discuss how resilient connectivity acts as a strategic enabler for the next generation of transportation systems rather than just a basic support layer.
By bringing their specialized portfolio of satellite technologies and network management platforms to North America, Globalsat Group aims to support regional operators looking to build secure, future-ready communication ecosystems. This strategic push follows the company’s recent recognition by the Mobile Satellite Users Association, which awarded Globalsat Group the 2025 “Outstanding Leadership in Use of a Mobile Solution” award for its critical mobility applications.
