[SatNews] HISPASAT will provide satellite communications for the members of the BBVA Route expedition, which will be heading toward Peru this year, and which starts its 29th Edition on June 18th, “In search of the sources of the Amazon River.”
The operator provides the space capacity and the technical equipment necessary for the transmissions—a portable, bi-directional satellite terminal and a deployable antenna—so that the expedition's organizers and journalists have access to the Internet via satellite broadband, enabling information transmission as well as radio and video signals from Peru to Spain. In addition, a technical specialist from HISPASAT will accompany the expedition throughout its journey to ensure coverage of the signal and resolve any possible issues that might arise.

The 29th Edition of the BBVA Route program travels to Peru this year to discover the sources of the Amazon River as well as to uncover the history and traditions of the Colca Valley. The expeditionary members will study the pre-Hispanic cultures of Paracas and Nazca, which made a significant contribution to the construction of the Andean civilization.
