EM Solutions Strikes Up The (Ka) Band For the Norwegian Navy

From down under in Brisbane, Australia, EM Solutions provided the first batch of Ka-Band 40W Block Upconverter equipment to Thales Communications, which is to be incorporated into a Ka/Ku SATCOM system for the Royal Norwegian Navy’s Nansen-Class Frigates.

The Ka-Band SATCOM system provides Beyond-Line-Of-Sight communications capability for users and will give the ship access to a broad range of services supporting encrypted information exchange as well as clear communications in simplex, half-duplex and full-duplex configuration.

EM Solutions provides technology to commercial and military customers in the telecommunications sectors. EM Solutions supplies Ka-Band products to Defense and commercial enterprise SATCOM industry, and Fixed Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) radios to commercial Terrestrial Link sector. Their products include LNB, BUC and SSPAs from 2W to 40W for SATCOM market, and 100Mbps PTMP radios based on the Wimax IEEE 802.16d standard for the Links market.
