Global Vision Networks and Swift Vision Hire of Chennai, India, have announced their intention to establish Global Vision India.
This joint venture will leverage the strengths of Global Vision and Swift to develop the market for business satellite use in India. Based in Chennai, with offices in New Delhi, Bangalore, Agra, and Calcutta, Global Vision India will focus on three key areas: Continuing Medical Education, delivery of live alternate content to cinemas, and private satellite networks for corporate use. To facilitate this, the company is establishing a HD video production facility in New Delhi as the hub for creating domestic Indian content. Global Vision has been providing satellite solutions in Asia Pacific region since 1992. With such a large land mass and so widely differing peoples, cultures and regulatory environments, satellite operations across the region can be daunting. This joint venture comes after more than five years of close cooperation between the partners in delivering corporate content into India.
The company is using its ability to integrate production, uplink, space segment, installation and ongoing management to bring these proven business tools to India. The establishment of Global Vision India follows a similar move in China late in 2008. Although just recently announced, there is close cooperation between the two regional hubs, especially in the area of ongoing medical education. “Healthcare is a global business and the large players are active in both China and India. We are already in discussion with a number of pharmaceutical companies about the efficiencies of delivering content to India and China at the same time,” said Kevin Fleck, General Manager China for Global Vision. Based in Beijing, Fleck is leading the company’s expansion into this market in in China.
