Thales Communications, Inc., announced the expansion of its tactical communications team. In response to increased battlefield requirements, the company has grown its business development organization to better serve both its domestic and international customer base. Thales is known as a developer and manufacturer of software-defined radio systems and solutions for warfighters and first responders.
Andrew Bostock has been promoted to director, leading the tactical ground communications team. His responsibilities include business development for tactical ground communications products within the United States. His primary focus is developing and promoting engineering and manufacturing programs that contain Thales’s products and derivatives, directly to military organizations as well as to system level prime contractors. Mr. Bostock has been part of the company’s tactical communications team since 2002. Joining Mr. Bostock’s team is Ben Bethke, business development manager, tactical ground communications for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps.
The company’s international organization has been expanded as well with the recent appointments of Elliot Liebman and Ron Huther as international business development managers for the Pacific Rim and South West Asia, Middle East, Latin America, and South America, respectively.
Thales Communications, an integral player in developing technology for the U.S. Department of Defense Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) initiative, is the developer of the AN/PRC-148 Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio, or MBITR, the most widely fielded tactical handheld radio in the world. Under the auspices of the JTRS program, Thales Communications evolved the AN/PRC-148 MBITR into the AN/PRC-148 JTRS Enhanced MBITR, or JEM, the first JTRS-approved product being used on the battlefield today. The AN/PRC-148 is the cornerstone of a complete system solution providing warfighters with advanced, reliable communications capabilities for mounted and dismounted operations.
