In its Circular Telegram, the ITU acknowledged that the Administration of Belarus, the notifying Administration for INTERSPUTNIK (International Organization of Space Communications) , has followed the regulations to properly bring frequencies into use on the operationally-healthy ProtoStar I satellite at 98.5° Eunder the Intersputnik-98.5ECK satellite network. The ITU also confirmed that ProtoStar has met all due diligence requirements of ITU Resolution 49. In early July, ProtoStar announced a cooperation agreement with INTERSPUTNIK to provide DTH television and broadband Internet services to DTH operators throughout South and Southeast Asia, using ProtoStar I’s Ku-band and C-band transponders, enabling small dish television. ProtoStar’s customers already include a premier line up of established Asian and Indian operators including Agrani Satellite Services Limited, a division of DishTV India Ltd.; PlanetSky Ltd. of Limassol, Cyprus; Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (SingTel); and most recently a collaboration with PLDT/Mabuhay Satellite Corporation.
