Asia-Pacific Sat Awards At APSCC Conference

Satellite operators and manufacturers, launch vehicle service providers, risk management and financing professionals, equipment manufacturers, satellite service providers, government regulators, users, and academics from around the world will gather at the APSCC 2008 Satellite Conference and Exhibition on September 22-25 in Jeju, Korea. This year, the annual event of APSCC will be launched on a bigger platform to cover more issues than ever before, regarding the Asia-Pacific satellite industry under the theme of “Satellites on the Move.” On September 23, the 2008 APSCC Awards ceremony will be held at the awards dinner at Lotte Hotel, Jeju. This is the 5th year that APSCC is hosting the APSCC Awards to recognize the companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and new services, which have significantly contributed to the advancement of the satellite and space related-industries in the Asia-Pacific region. At the awards ceremony, the ‘Satellite Executive of the Year in Asia-Pacific Award’ will be given to an individual who is regarded as a contributor in promoting the Asia-Pacific satellite industry Pacific as well as in implementing regional and international cooperation in the satellite community. In addition, this year the 2008 APSCC Awards Selection Committee has decided to present a special award to the ‘Asia Spectrum Defense Team’ to express appreciation to APSCC members, who have united, supported and contributed a great deal of time and effort to protect and maintain the use of the satellite C-band, at the WRC-07, which ended in mid November 2007.
