Satmex Sits With SECOM + CNC + ARSAT
From Convergencia Latina‘s newsletter, we learn that last week, representatives of the Mexican satellite operator Satmex visited Argentina. There, they met with members of the SECOM (Communications Ministry), the CNC (National Communication Commission), and ARSAT. One of the company’s goals is to obtain a license to operate in Argentina. Alonso Picazo, Regulatory, Legal and International Affairs executive director of Satmex, told Convergencialatina that with ARSAT, some of the points talked about focused on expanding sales of satellite capacity in Argentina. Moreover, they discussed renewal of agreements with the state to include Satmex 6 in the monitoring center of South America, through which Satmex will check all communications that are generated from South America in Argentina. Currently, Solidarity 2 is the satellite operating for this region.
