SkyTrac has now added Quantum Helicopters to its steadily growing list of customers. Quantum Helicopters has turned to SkyTrac to provide a complete, fleet-wide flight following and SatCom solution, using a cost-effective combination of the company’s permanently installed “ISAT” units and portable “DSAT” units. SkyTrac’s ISAT units will be installed in the aircraft that require satellite voice communication in addition to flight following. For the remaining aircraft, which require flight following while on particular assignments, an innovative approach has been taken whereby a dual antenna (Iridium and GPS) will be permanently installed and a pool of SkyTrac’s portable DSAT units will be shared among the fleet on an as-required basis.
