Australian Satellite Communications (ASC) is certainly spreading their satellite telecommunications service over larger territories now including the South Pacific region. Based on iDirect VSAT technology that covers the entire South Pacific from one GE-23 satellite, the service is hosted by Hawaii Pacific Teleport, which has a three-year contract for their services. In order to make this happen, it involves an ASC owned iDirect 5IF satellite hub commissioned on the high performance GE-23 South West Pacific and South East Pacific Ku band beams. The new services classes operating at 1024/512kbps with 512/256 kbps CIR capability to complement the existing ASC network which is operated out of the Adelaide teleport—Thebarton, South Australia
