Mod + Demod With Backbone From Newtec
Newtec has two new additions to the firm’s Azimuth product family. The AZ128 Modulator and the AZ928 Demodulator support satellite links capable of supporting traffic of 155.52Mbit/s. The units interconnect with a SDH/SONET network, via a STM-1 or OC3 interface, providing an ideal solution to support re-routed traffic following cable failure. The new products, which are based on the DVB-S2 modulation standard, offer exceptional power and bandwidth efficiency, (the satellite transmission can be operated on 54Mhz transponder) and this can be further improved by up to 2dB when the built in linear and non linear predistortion solution, Equalink, is activated. The AZ128 and AZ928 units are also designed to improve services in regions with limited telecommunications infrastructure, allowing the connection to the Internet backbone or to an international exchange switch. The AZ128 Modulator and the AZ928 Demodulator will be demonstrated at Satellite 2008 from February 25th through the 28th in Washington D.C.—Sint Niklaas, Belgium
