Reliance Communications (RCom) now has booked capacity on MEASAT-3, the Malaysian satellite system, with the length of the deal to run for 15 to 20 years. This capacity is going to be the base for RCom’s new DTH services and to accomplish this endeavor four transponders were booked. And there’s an option for four more. More than 10 million subscribers in India will be addressed by this new capacity and the feed will be offered to more than 15 million TV households. RCom will introduce services using advanced MPEG-4 technology.
