MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. has announced SkyVision Global Networks LLC signed a multi-transponder agreement for C-band capacity on the AFRICASAT-1 satellite. “The commissioning of AFRICASAT-1 at 46.0° E earlier this year significantly expanded the reach of the MEASAT fleet into the African and European region” said Terry Bleakley, MEASAT Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “We are pleased now to be able to announce our first contract on the satellite, supporting SkyVision’s services in this dynamic and fast growing region.” Under the agreement, SkyVision will lease C-band transponders on the AFRICASAT-1 satellite commencing April 2008. The capacity will be used for the provision of broadband services to SkyVision customers between Europe and Africa and across the African continent—Kuala Lumpur
