Another firm entering the second-round competition for NASA funding for an Earth-to-orbit crew and cargo transportation service is Transformational Space Corporation (t/Space). $175 million will be offered by NASA‘s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services (COTS) to companies who develop systems to move people and supplies to the International Space Station. With the Space Shuttle set to retire in 2010, it is hoped NASA will announce the winner(s) no later than February of 2008. t/space was one of six finalists in last year’s COTS competition. NASA selected to competitors for funding, and t/Space signed an unfunded Space Act Agreement with the agency last February, which allows t/Space to share in the ISS program and tech data NASA supplies to funded participants. t/Space msut keep NASA informed regarding any and all progress on this project—Reston, Virginia
