Andrew Corporation has added low-passive intermodulation (PIM) capabilities to many of its satellite antenna products. Generation of interfering signals caused by passive intermodulation is disruptive to successful network communications. Low–PIM equipment helps create higher quality communications, with less interference and data loss. Currently, Andrew offers its 3.9 Meter Tri-Fold antenna and 2.4 Meter Nomadic antenna in Low-PIM configurations. The new 4.6 Meter Tri-Fold antenna will be available with Low-PIM as well. Several other earth station antennas, such as the 4.9m and 8.1m are also available in Low-PIM configurations. The company plans to add a Low-PIM version of its 2.4 Meter Quick-Deploy in early 2008. The capability is planned for other models during calendar year 2008. Low-PIM test functions are located in Andrew’s Richardson, Texas and Whitby, Ontario facilities.
