Moving On Up… At Thales Communications

Two key appointments have been made by Thales Communications. Walt Hepker and Glen Parker are the recipients of these announced position changes.



Walt Hepker, Vice President of Business Development, Thales Communications Mr. Hepker has served as Vice President of Program Management at Thales since 2006 — he is now the Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Hepker succeeds Diane Reineke, who is now heading up a new operating entity within Thales focused on broadening the company’s offerings in the C4ISR domain. Vice President Hepker will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s business development strategies and leading the day-to-day operations of the business development department.


Glen Parker, Vice President of Program Management, Thales Communications Glen Parker is now the company’s Vice President of Program Management. He has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of tactical communications, software-defined radios, and U.S. Government procurement, 15 years of which have been with Thales. His most recent role was as Thales’ program manager, JTRS HMS (Handheld, Manpack, and Small Form Factor). Under this effort, Thales is leading the development of the first two channel tactical handheld radio and supporting the development of other manportable radios. Mr. Parker’s outstanding record with the company includes leadership of several other
key programs, including the AN/PRC-148 Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR), which resulted in the first multiband, software-defined handheld radio developed for the tactical market. The MBITR radio has evolved into the market leader for software-defined radios with over 100,000 units deployed to U.S. and allied forces—Clarksburg, Maryland
