
An agreement for the delivery of a Sat3Play Satellite Broadband System has been signed between Newtec and Egypsat. The latter has their headquarters in Cairo and has been in the biz of offering sat-based services since 1997. Their customer base majority is comprised of business users, large corporations, and Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) users throughout the Middle East. Sat3Play is the latest development in Newtec’s range of Satellite Broadband Systems and combines Open Standard Technologies with Digital Video Broadcast, Return Channel via Satellite (DVB-RCS) and SatMode based systems.
At Egypsat Cairo teleport, the facility with the best Tier 1 fiber connectivity, a new hub station will be installed. Interactive sat-based broadband services such as fast access, VoIP and other IP-based services will now be available to home and professional users. Sat3Play features an Advanced Modulation Scheme ensuring a highly cost effective VSAT system, an easy to install user terminal, and Tellitec IP software products are also incorporated into the product, with enhanced capabilities such as trafficking shaping, TCP acceleration, and http pre-fetching—Sint-Niklaas, Belgium—August 23, 2007
