LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA: August 22, 2007—Satnews Daily—A unique combination of Iridium Satellite and GSM/GPRS connectivity are features within the latest addition to Blue Sky Network’s asset and fleet tracking product line. The new offering is their D3000 transceiver. Not only is there the cost-efficiency of dual connectivity, but also there are new security features, global remote asset tracking and two-way text messaging.
This portable and lightweight device is installed into a land vehicle or maritime vessel quickly and simply. Power is derived directly from the vehicle or vessel. The unit is controlled from a high-resolution LCD display and an easy to use keypad. Optionally, the D300 can also be configured with voice capability for Iridium Satellite or GSM. The new transceiver works in connection with SkyRouter, the company’s asset management portal, web-based software used for all functions and with easy integration with Google Earth. The on board unit transmits reports from the remote assets directly to the site for review by operations and provides a real-time view of asset locations as well as easy communication of new or rescheduled jobs.
