The theme represents the evolution of telecoms. Certainly raw capacity in terms of footprint and bandwidth is important, but perhaps more important over the next decade will be capabilities—new services and features in current markets and the pursuit of new markets, and greater network intelligence—built on raw connectivity. The ability of these new services to collaborate with customers, nontraditional partners, and regulatory authorities to usher in the next generation of telecommunications services will be key.
