These new modems support all of the latest DVB-S2X standard’s modulation and coding: from BPSK to up to 256 APSK, delivering spectral efficiency improvements of up to 60 percent leading to substantial satellite bandwidth savings. The AMT-50 supports bandwidths of up to 36 Msps suitable for a 36 MHz transponder including the DVB-S2X time slice number concept.

The AMT-50X reaches up to 80 Msps suitable for a 72MHz transponder or up to an 80 MHz DVB-S2X time slice. Both models support multiple waveforms such as DVB-S/S2/S2X, Carrier Echo Cancellation and other cutting-edge features such as ASI inputs/outputs to support video, L2/L3 switch/router with a built-in QoS/PEP and CID as mandated by the FCC.

These new products will be on display in Advantech Wireless’ booth SU2802 at the NAB2016 event in Las Vegas as well as with a complete range of broadcast and HTS satellite networking and RF products.

According to Oscar Glottman, Advantech Wireless CMO of the Satellite Networks Business Unit, these SCPC modems, which are members of the company's AMT50.50X A-SAT-II™ SATCOM family, deliver 40 to 60 percent satellite bandwidth savings over DVB-S2. They also pack Carrier-Echo-Cancellation and advanced waveforms such as DVB-S2X, NS3 and NS4.
