Noorsat, the Arab satellite operator and service provider, was awarded the bid last month to broadcast TRT Arabic channel, ensuring immediate access to all of the viewers in the Arab World. The satellites are located at two popular orbital locations that serve the Arab World — NOORSAT 1 satellite at 25.5 degrees East and NOORSAT 2 at 7 degrees West. Noorsat is the only operator with satellite access to both Arab hotspots. TRT, Turkey's first and only public broadcasting corporation, will be introducing TRT Arabic Channel as their latest channel joining the TRT bouquet of channels. Turkish TV programming has recently attracted a wide Arab audience and is gaining in popularity. Managing the channel is writer and journalist Safar Toran, who has extensive experience in the Arab broadcasting sector.
