  • Robert Sussman, Co-founder and joint CEO, Integr8. Multi-award winning Sussman co-founded Integr8 in 2001. He has been Absa Entrepreneur of the Year, Africa’s leading Chief Information Officer of the Year multiple times over, winner of the “Oscars of the ICT Industry” ICT Achiever of the year, a top IT Personality of the Year and a leading Entrepreneur in Ernst&Young’s Worldwide Entrepreneur of the Year.

  • Dawie Olivier, Head IT: BIO PBB SA and Director, PBB OCIO, Standard Bank. Olivier has led teams in design and implementation of strategies and solutions to a number of corporations. He designed and aligned IT to group and individual company strategies and has been custodian of successful implementations of these strategies. Previous positions include CIO and GM: IT at Sasfin Holdings and Director of IT Shared Services Africa at Standard Bank.
  • Bram Schreuder, Group IM Manager, ArcelorMittal. Schreuder started at Iscor in 1987 in Process Automation. In 1995 he was sent to the Saldanha Steel project to establish a Greenfield steel plant in Saldanha Bay. Responsibilities included tender evaluations for Level 2 process automation systems, ICT systems and services establishment. In 2008 he became Group Manager Information Management for ArcelorMittal South Africa. Responsibilities included a distributed environment with services delivered at 5 main sites spread across the country covering IT services (ICT, SAP, MES and Process Automation).

  • Frans Cronje, CIO, Adcock Ingram. Cronje is responsible for the IT environment from infrastructure to applications.. Current areas of focus include completing the migration from legacy systems onto Oracle Process Manufacturing Release 12, and implementing mobile solutions for the extensive sales force.
  •  
  • Melody Fourie, Group IT Executive, Tiger Wheel & Tyre. Fourie studied Sports Science, before falling in love with IT. She has worked in IT for more than 17 years. Her experience includes training, business analysis, programming and business solutions architecture. Fourie’s long-term focus is on planning IT initiatives to ensure the organisation does not lose sight of the importance of IT. Her portfolio now includes management of strategic business projects with a focus on aligning IT with business requirements.

  • Lemmy Chappie , CIO, Gauteng department of Transport and Public Works. Chappie joined Gauteng Department of Transport and Public Works as Deputy Director in 1999 after being in the private sector and owning his own ICT company. Chappie realised government needed skills in ICT. He moved to the shared services team in 2002 as Director in the role of Operations Manager. In 2004, he became CIO of Gauteng Department of Finance.

  • Alpesh Patel, CIO, Absa and Barclays Africa. Patel, a qualified accountant (FCCA), is CIO for Absa and Barclays Africa in Johannesburg. Prior to joining Absa in October 2011, Alpesh was Head of Equities Technology for Asia Pacific AT Barclays Capital, Hong Kong. He joined Barclays from UBS and held senior technology positions including Asia Pacific CIO for UBS AG and Regional Head of Equities Technology. He headed the Group IT Infrastructure organisation at UBS from January 2008. His 22-year career spans from London, Frankfurt, New York to Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. He was based in Asia Pacific for the last 13 years before moving to South Africa.

  • Darryl Thwaits, CIO, Tiger Brands. Thwaits is a CA and holds an MBA from Herriot-Watt University, Scotland. He joined Tiger Brands in 1994 in various executive roles and as group CIO since 2004. Before Tiger Brands, he was MD of St. Thomas Group in Durban for 12 years. He was financial director of Tongaat Foods for 6 years before this. He chaired the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Chartered Accountants, institute of Directors in Durban and the Association of Personnel Selection Organisations, also in Durban. Thwaits team is responsible for internal SLAs, project implementation and management of 3rd-party contracts.

  • Shawn Fisher, Head of Information Management, Anglo Platinum. Fisher joined Anglo Platinum in June 2010 as Head Information Management. Previously, he was Head of Information Management at Sasol Nitro and held various Information Technology positions for 15 years at Sasol. He holds a BSc Honors degree in Computer Science and a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.

  • Kris Tokarzewski, Chief Information Officer, Discovery Health. Tokarzewski joined Discovery as CIO in May 2011, having been CIO at Netcare Ltd for 7 years. He has 9 years ‘ healthcare, 14 years’ IT and 23 years’ business experience. He received his MBA from Thames Valley University (UK), completed a Management Development Programme at UNISA and an Automotive Engineering Diploma (PL). His qualifications include an IT Leadership course at WITS and Advanced Valuations Techniques at GIBS.
