On October 26th, three Glonass satellites were launched from Kazakstan’s Baikonur space center aboard a Russian Proton rocket. This was actually the first launch with a Glonass payload since December of 2006. The Russian Space Agency has now reported that one of those three satellites has now been placed into full operation. Within a few weeks, the remaining two satellites will be put into service. The total number of useable satellites in this Russian constellation now numbers ten.
