The satellite receiver is ideal for simulcast, pari-mutuel program distributors looking to broadcast more events to their audience and/or offer HD services. As with all satellite receivers designed by WEGENER, Compel Control is a standard feature of the product. COMPEL Control helps operators maximize on-air time by remotely controlling outputs of WEGENER receivers and IPTV decoders. It allows operators to accurately schedule access to video signals from multiple racetracks.
The WEGENER Unity 550-2 receiver combines advanced video compression, satellite technology and IPTV distribution to control costs. As the simulcast, pari-mutuel industry attracts new audiences with expanded coverage of different live events such as poker tournaments, program distributors benefit from MPEG-4 video compression and DVB-S2 satellite modulation. Transitioning to these new formats can provide a program distributor with 40-60 percent bandwidth savings, allowing them to offer increased programming.
WEGENER’s Unity 550-2 can pass multiple IP video streams to low-cost WEGENER IPTV decoders within a facility over a local IP network.
