Communications Aid Continues In Peru
FRANCE & PERU: August 21, 2007—Satnews Daily—As we reported yesterday, Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) rushed satellite satphone equipment to Peru to assist in ensuring communications were maintained in country and for the outside world. Currently, TSF is running 2 Emergency Communications Centers, with others to open in other affected cities over the coming hours. Free, humanitarian calling operations have been started for the survivors in Pisco. TSF is also monitoring the course of Hurricane Dean and is now on standby for deployment to the Caribbean should their services be required.
