iDirect—Opening In Ottawa (Business)

[SatNews] VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), announced that it has moved its Canadian office to the nation’s capital, strengthening its commitment to the Canadian satellite communications market. The new Ottawa facility will serve as the head office for iDirect Canada and support a growing team of sales, operations, engineering and technical research, and development functions.

Satellite communications industry analysts project significant future growth in Canada as the country expands communications deep into its vast remote areas to spur natural resource development and strengthen rural societies and economies. With the iDirect platform already widely deployed in markets as varied as oil and gas, mining and government and defense, a more established presence positions the company to better serve local partners while developing products that address the growing national focus on connectivity and access.

Rob Kilroy, the Vice President Americas for iDirect, said, “The expansion of our operations in Canada is a strategic and timely move. We’re bringing resources closer to our partners to meet greater demand for satellite communications and iDirect technology. Our team here is excited about the tremendous opportunities we can capture with our partners.”

As Regional Vice President, Americas, Rob Kilroy is responsible for the business development and sales oversight for North, South and Central America. Kilroy brings over 30years of sales management experience in satellite communications to iDirect. Through his 10 years of sales leadership at iDirect, Mr. Kilroy has expanded iDirect’s presence in the region with several of the world’s leading satellite network operators which has resulted in over 400% growth in the business.
