The Geospatial Analytics Capabilities of Orbital Insight Brings Reseller Agreements with ITOCHU and SKY Perfect JSAT

ITOCHU Corporation has announced that the company and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation have agreed to a reseller agreement with Orbital Insight, Inc. to offer the latter's geospatial analytics to both company's customers.

Orbital Insight sources imagery from satellites, drones, and other UAVs and then applies artificial intelligence to automate the analysis of millions of images at scale. As a result, the company can provide actionable intelligence across industries, from retail sales strength, to flood extents, to the amount of crude oil being stored in China and the U.S. As customers in Japan continue to adopt new sources of data to make business decisions, this partnership will provide access to information grounded in observable truths at a global scale to customers of ITOCHU and SKY Perfect JSAT.

ITOCHU and SKY Perfect JSAT plan to use their partnership with Orbital Insight to actively develop businesses that use LEO through customer and market development. SKY Perfect JSAT customers will have access to Orbital Insight's analysis and applications, including measuring retail traffic, monitoring construction, economic indexing, determining the scope of natural disaster impact, and more.

As Asia's largest satellite communication and multi-channel payTV company, SKY Perfect JSAT launched a LEO satellite business in 2015. The company has established successful partnerships with leading companies in the LEO satellite industry, including Axelspace Corporation of Japan, Planet Labs Inc. of the U.S., KSAT AS of Norway, and LeoSat Enterprises Inc. of the U.S.
