On August 11, 2026, global enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity provider Wireless Logic announced an agreement to acquire the IoT connectivity business of Brazilian telecommunications provider Algar Telecom.

Upon transaction completion, the business unit will be integrated into Arqia, Wireless Logic’s Brazilian subsidiary, expanding the group’s operational footprint across Latin America.
Latin American Market Expansion and Portfolio Integration
The transaction follows Wireless Logic’s 2025 acquisition of Arqia, reinforcing the group’s strategic focus on the Brazilian IoT sector. First launched in 2019 to target Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Point of Sale (POS) applications, Algar Telecom’s IoT unit has grown into an established connectivity platform in Brazil. The acquisition combines Arqia’s local enterprise infrastructure with Wireless Logic’s global network, enabling connected operations across agribusiness, logistics, payment processing, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, and smart city infrastructure.
The acquisition aligns with broader market growth in global connectivity services, as highlighted in earlier market research detailing cellular IoT connectivity revenues and managed service provider expansion.
“The signing of this agreement marks an important milestone for Arqia and reinforces our growth strategy,” stated Tomas Fuchs, CEO of Arqia. “Once completed, the transaction will enhance our ability to develop even more comprehensive solutions for our customers, while accelerating our expansion in a market that continues to experience strong growth. It also demonstrates Wireless Logic’s confidence in Brazil’s potential as its key growth market in Latin America.“
“This decision marks a deliberate step for Algar to accelerate investments in our comprehensive IT and telecommunications solutions, with a focus on high-value areas such as cloud, cybersecurity, and professional services,” added Eliane Garcia Melgaço, President of Algar. “This move is part of the company’s strategic repositioning, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in our customers’ digital transformation.”
“This agreement represents another important step in executing our strategy for Latin America,” noted Oliver Tucker, co-founder and CEO of Wireless Logic. “Once the transaction is completed, we’ll combine Arqia’s local expertise with Wireless Logic’s scale to deliver even greater value to customers and accelerate the development of the IoT market across the region.”
Regulatory Approval and Closing Timeline
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and applicable regulatory approvals in Brazil. Until final closing is achieved, Algar Telecom’s IoT connectivity division and Arqia will continue to operate as independent entities. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
